It was a rainy Monday afternoon when the doorbell rang at Andrea's house. She looked outside and saw a small box on her front door, but the mail truck was nowhere to be found. She opened the box, seeing a beautiful pink flower inside, but she couldn't find who it was from. In a panic, she searched the internet for flowers like that one, and shockingly, she found that the flower was an endangered species native only to underwater caves in the Pacific Ocean. She immediately went to her car, planning to find a way to get the flower back to its home. Andrea drove her Jeep out of her home in the city and into the desert, looking for someone who might know how to get to the caves. She met a kangaroo named Joey and an armadillo named Mike, who told her that the best way to get to the caves was driving up North and taking a small plane across the Arctic part of the Pacific Ocean. She thanked them and gave them some of her favorite mint tea for their trouble, heading North in search of a biplane rental agency. Once she got to the North, Andrea found the biplane rental, run by a penguin named Webster and a seal named Blue. They let her rent a plane for a few days, and before she set off in the biplane, she shared some of her strawberry cake with them, telling them stories about her life, listening to their adventures, and playing games of chess. That night, Andrea flew out, but before she could find a safe place to land, a huge storm blew in. It was raining cats and dogs, and lightning was flashing everywhere. She wanted to land as fast as possible, but the only thing below her was the freezing ocean. She tried to find a safe spot to get down gently, but lightning stuck the side of the plane, blowing out the engine and sending it spiraling down towards the deep blue waters. Andrea's plane hurled into the deep ocean waters, but luckily, she had her scuba gear with her. She searched and searched for the flower, which had fallen out in the crash, but she couldn't find it. Just when she was about to give up, she met a friendly octopus named Rosie and her friend, Flounder. They had seen the crash, and they had found her flower! They gave her a map to a cave nearby, where two experts on flowers lived. She thanked them by sharing some more of her strawberry cake and swam away, eager to find the cave and return the flower. Andrea found the cave in no time, and to her shock, it was covered in gorgeous pink flowers! She met a caterpillar named Jacques and his friend Gretel, but the two of them broke the bad news to Andrea: the flower she had was not actually endangered, but only looked very similar. They apologized for her trouble, but Andrea was disheartened. She had tried so hard to help, but the flower was just a common one. She gave them the last of her mint tea and started the long journey home, taking the flower with her. Andrea was still sad about the flower, but she was relieved to finally be heading home so she could relax. But as she went back into her house, her phone rang; it was a call from her friend Kelly. She picked up with a sigh. "Hey, Kelly. How are things?" Kelly laughed, "Well, I'm glad you got the flower I sent you. I got it from my garden. But sorry you had to go on such a long journey!" Andrea started laughing with her, but as she walked into the living room, Kelly, and all of her new friends from the journey, jumped out, yelling "SURPRISE!" They all had mint tea and strawberry cake, talking and laughing about their wild few days they had all had, and they all took a picture together to celebrate their new friendships and to remember the mysterious gift that had brought them all together.
